I grew up around fitness. My mom owned a gym, and from a young age she taught me that living a healthy, active life is about so much more than exercise; It’s about taking care of yourself for the long run. As I watched my grandmother age, I also saw something missing from the health and fitness world: more emphasis on preventative fitness and helping people, especially women as they age, build strength, confidence, and independence before problems arise.
I am a former collegiate volleyball player and continued into coaching collegiate volleyball at Saint Leo University. Today, I bring that athletic and coaching experience into Boot Camp Challenge, where my goal is to create a community that makes movement fun, challenging, and accessible. I believe fitness should help you live a better life and I want Boot Camp Challenge to be a place where people of all ages can build strength, confidence, and a healthier future.
Hello! My name is Katlyn Shea. I have a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science with a coaching minor from Lindenwood University. I am the head coach of a local competitive gymnastics team and have been helping kids reach their fullest athletic potential in the gym since 2015. When I’m not coaching, I love to spend time outside walking or running.
I started my journey with Boot Camp Challenge® as a camper and instantly fell in love with everything about the program. I am a big advocate for breaking the stigma around mental health and firmly believe in the importance of movement for maintaining a healthy mind and body. BCC offers a safe space for everyone and creates a sense of belonging and community amongst campers. I am so excited to be a trainer that encourages people to better their physical and mental health!

Amy’s personal training career began after an event that was life changing. This experience led her to recognize that physical exercise helped her to relieve stress in her life. After a few months of working out she discovered that movement made her feel strong and in more control. She decided to divert her depression into something more productive by seeking a new direction in her life.
Discovering exercise was an avenue that encouraged her to explore all forms of body movement. This eventually led her into her true calling in life which is to assist others in becoming physically stronger and healthier each day. This passion has been ongoing for 29 years.
While working for the YMCA in her home town, it became apparent that various classes were much needed to properly condition a body for optimum performance. For years she taught classes in Eccentric/Concentric movement such as Strength, Cardio, Spinning, Aquatics, Pilates, Tai-Chi and Yoga.
She soon discovered that having learned all these different forms of exercise had transformed her into a well rounded trainer.
Since 1986 her certifications include accreditation by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), standards recommended by the International Health, Racquet and Sports Club Association (IHRSA) ,the Medical Fitness Association (MFA), and the National Posture Institute (NPI) in Posture Analysis Correction.
Amy is also a certified Health Coach through the American Council on Exercise (ACE). She is a CPR/BLS/AED/First aid and Heartsavers Instructor through the American Heart Association, also holds an Advanced Personal Training certification and is a Sports Nutritionist. In addition she has a Bachelor of Bible degree from the West Tennessee Bible Institute.
